Matt Carr first came to Multiplex’s Connectivity Centre on the SHOR project in 2019 and was quickly connected with an opportunity to start a plumbing apprenticeship with Planet Plumbing. This month, we are very pleased to congratulate Matt on completing his Certificate III in Plumbing and becoming a qualified plumber.

Matt will now have the opportunity to continue his career on other city changing projects such as the New Sydney Fish Market and the Western Sydney International Airport Fuel Farm.

Rob Metcalfe, General Manager of Planet Plumbing said, “I am proud of Matt and have enjoyed being part of his journey from apprentice to trades-person. I still vividly remember meeting him at the employment interview at the Westmead Connectivity Centre. Although he was nervous, he was also filled with confidence because he knew he was backed up by the support of the Connectivity Centre team. “

Shortly after Matt started with Planet, his brother Daniel also joined the team following a similar introduction from the Connectivity Centre. Daniel will be completing his apprenticeship in the next few months, while younger sister Maddi has also recently started her plumbing apprenticeship with Planet Plumbing.

Rob said, “On a personal note I’m passionate about the Connectivity Centre and the opportunities it provides and would like to thank everyone involved for their efforts and initiative. “

Thank you to Rob and Planet Plumbing for the support and ongoing commitment to create sustainable employment opportunities through the Connectivity Centre.
